ANGEL INVESTOR GROUP MAVERICK ANGELS
TO HOST MONTHLY BOOT CAMP FOR ENTREPRENEURS Start-ups learn insider strategies for effectively pitching investors and for becoming successful entrepreneurs LOS ANGELES, CALIF. April 25, 2006 - Maverick Angels, a new angel investment group, announced today the launch of its Maverick Angels Boot Camp for EntrepreneursSM a start-up training program designed to teach the fundamentals for entrepreneurial success and the strategies for attracting early-stage funding. The initial Boot Camp will take place on Friday, May 5th at the Maverick Angels offices in Agoura Hills. Maverick Angels is a "next generation" angel investor network which takes an entrepreneur-friendly approach to angel investing to create win-win results with emerging companies. In line with this approach, the group is offering the Boot Camps to entrepreneurs in order to help them understand how to build and fund emerging-growth companies. "As serial entrepreneurs ourselves, we understand that if we better serve the needs of entrepreneurs, our interests will be better-served as investors as well, resulting in a higher return on our investments," says Maverick Angels' Founder and President, John Dilts. "If we make an effort to actively share our knowledge and resources with emerging companies in a more formalized way, we can expect to see explosive growth and success among many of these companies," says Dilts. "We also view the Boot Camp as a strong attractor of promising companies which members of our angel network may want to see." Maverick Angels has developed world-class training programs to support entrepreneurs and will offer the monthly entrepreneur-focused Boot Camp at its offices in Agoura Hills. The Maverick Angels Boot Camp for EntrepreneursSM is an intensive one-day program designed to teach the necessary fundamentals for raising start-up capital. The Boot Camp will also teach the key strategies and approaches, both personal and professional, for achieving entrepreneurial success. The fee for the full-day Boot Camp is $495 per person. "We want to keep the cost down so that anyone can afford to learn this valuable information," says Dilts. "The program is open to all aspiring entrepreneurs with a passion and desire for success." The Boot Camp will be taught by Dilts, a highly renowned lecturer on the topic of entrepreneurship, who has hosted numerous seminars around the globe. In teaching these programs, Dilts draws on more than a decade of experience supporting countless emerging-growth companies as an investor, board member and advisor. Dilts has coached many Fortune 500 executives on how to gain an entrepreneurial mindset and is currently engaged with Nestle USA, Inc., as a principal architect of its unique Innovation Development Program. According to Dilts, success in entrepreneurship is not limited to a lucky few nor to the economically privileged. "After interviewing and observing successful entrepreneurs for many years, we realized that there were certain common practices that they followed from both a behavioral and business perspective," says Dilts. "We teach entrepreneurship as a true discipline which can be easily learned and mastered by anyone with the passion and persistence needed to succeed." Dilts' programs have received rave reviews from attendees who directly credit the Boot Camp for their exponential growth and success. "John's engaging style combines his experience of many years on the entrepreneurial frontline with a passionate commitment to supporting the development of individual entrepreneurs, their organizations and the communities they serve," says Mark Lewis, Director of Wizards Network, a fast-growing company which arranges team-building programs for large corporations. "John is an inspiring trainer and coach, whose own distinguished entrepreneurial track-record ensures the program is both rich and real." Much of the Boot Camp will focus on the strategies and techniques for raising start-up capital from angel investors and other private equity investors. "Investor presentations pivot on very different principles than any other pitch," says Andrew Young, CEO of Interneer, Inc., a Culver City-based enterprise software company. "John helped us reframe our message and its delivery to inspire the interest of hardened angel investors. His guidance was a turning point in the success of our investment round."
