Dan Roberts
Chief Operating Officer
Dan Roberts is the Chief Operating Officer for Maverick Angels, an international network of early-stage investors, service providers, and entrepreneur mentors. He has devoted his career to working with start-up entrepreneurs and angel and venture capital investors to further develop an end-to-end investment process. His dedication to entrepreneurs extends beyond the U.S. borders with his work as an entrepreneur coach and innovation consultant with one of the largest banks in Europe. He sits on the Executive Committee of the California Coast Venture Forum (CCVF), a non-profit organization whose mission is to mentor, advise and promote growth of sustainable start-up companies. As a member of the G2G International Cleantech Incubator team, he is a mentor to early-stage cleantech entrepreneurs. He has served as a presentation judge for the Cleantech Open, the largest cleantech business competition in the world. He is also a founding manager of Mendocino Roots Charitable Foundation, a scholarship fund focused on providing financial support to underserved youth in Mendocino County that are pursuing higher education.
Dan has worked with hundreds of entrepreneurs to improve their investment pitch, while leveraging his extensive network to provide needed resources. As an active clean-technology and enterprise software investor, he has deep experience in the angel investor due diligence process.
He earned his BS in Environmental Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara where he focused on Clean Energy, Sustainable Development, Ophthalmology and Arctic Soil Science Research. His journey to becoming an Eagle Scout further developed his strong work ethic and focus on preparedness.
Dan’s solid work ethic and various skill sets quickly landed him his present-day role as the Maverick Angels Chief Operating Officer.
Additionally, he is an expert snowboarder, avid mountain biker, and spent three months backpacking through the Indian Himalayas.
